Glencore International AG has an immediate opening for business intelligence professionals with experience in cloud first deployments. As a leader in the commodities and mining sector the opportunity will present candidates with a diversity of data challenges that require innovative problem-solving skills. From sub-second telemetry signals to monthly financial processes there are limitless options for creativity and efficiency.
The optimal candidate will be able to take advantage of the Power BI platform to integrate and present data across the enterprise enabling sites, traders and management to understand each layer of the business through rich data visualization.
The main tasks and responsibilities include:
Creating robust data models in PowerBI for PowerBI Frontend Developers
Creating simple and robust models for Self-Service BI
Creating intelligent reports for end-user consumption
Enhancing existing models and reports to be scalable and best practice
Improving PowerBI ETL with hybrid tables and composite models
Consulting internal “Clients” in all BI matters
Overtaking POC and Pilot projects to enhance them
Integrating PowerApps into PBI to enable write back and process improvement
Self-starter, self-managed, quick learner with a growth mindset
Strong technical leadership abilities with high problem solving, analytical, and deductive reasoning aptitude
Capable of leading discovery sessions to translate business requirements into technical requirements
Excellent communication and planning skills to keep stakeholders updated with clear timelines and expectations
Qualifications and requirements:
2+ years of experience in
– telling compelling stories with the Power BI canvas, ideally using International Business Communication Standard visuals
– creating robust tabular models for very diverse use cases (composite models, self-service models etc.) and specialties (Finance, Procurement etc.)
– transforming and enriching data through standard Microsoft tools (T-SQL, Power Query M, DAX)
Up to date knowledge on new and in-preview features such as Power BI datamart
Model transactional systems using industry best practices
Understanding of DevOps Source control and how to achieve version control within PowerBI
Fluent English (spoken and written)
Holder of a Swiss work permit of CH/EU passport holder
