Job Overview

The Principal Planner focuses on supporting and coordinating critical activities for the operational strategy and technical services function in the global Copper Department. Key accountabilities are the establishment and continuous improvement of Copper leadership routines, governance and reporting, development of strategic presentations and business cases, and coordination of the annual business planning activities. In this position, travel to sites is required approximately four times per year. This role will report directly to the Head of Operational Strategy and Technical Services.

The role

• Establish working relationships with Functional, Regional and Asset leaders and team members across the Copper Department to provide day-to-day coordination and strategic support to the Head of Operational Strategy and Technical Services

• Establish and continually improve leadership routines, governance processes and reporting, focusing on operations, technical, strategy and business development

• Lead global business and system improvement initiatives and develop strategic presentations and business cases for Operational Strategy and Technical Services

• Coordinate Life of Asset and Executive Committee Reviews annually

• Support and participate in critical business processes, including risk management, project steering committees and on-site operational reviews and investigations

Minimum requirements

• Degree Qualified (Engineering, Science, Finance or Accounting)

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the resources or energy sector in operations, engineering, finance, logistics, business development or trading

• Knowledge of risk management and continuous improvement programs, and on-site exposure an asset

• Ability to work independently across various levels of the departments

• Significant experience working in the extractives industry

• Fluency in English, with any other language (German, French and/or Spanish) an asset
