Job Overview
As Associate Enterprise Architect you will be a member of the Professional Services team in the Global Digital Platforms organization. The Associate Enterprise Architect supports senior colleagues in defining strategies to manage the complexity of the IT landscape and supports projects as well as designs new solutions within the architectural domains of Global Digital Platforms.
What you will do
• Contribute to the effective execution and delivery of the architecture function as including application, data and technology architecture governance for a given portion of the landscape
• Contribute to the integration of new applications with key surrounding systems on global and local level
• Solution delivery architectural responsibilities during project specific activities, but also strategic and operational architectural responsibilities to support the evolution or transformation of the IT portfolio within your scope
• Take guidance and direction from more senior architects, e.g. lead enterprise architects or lead functional domain architects
• Participate in architecture state definitions (interim/target), conduct technology evaluation, and prepare strategy decisions, organize architecture reviews, as well as spotting improvement opportunities and provide architecture support for programs and/or projects
• You will actively, “hands-on”, participate and work directly with senior stakeholders to create initial traction for large GDP initiatives and work closely with other members of GDP’s Professional Services function throughout the lifecycle of our projects
• In your capacity as an Associate Enterprise Architect, you will be responsible for analyzing business and technical needs, design, and thriving and supporting implementation of various enabling technologies, products, and services required for a modern IT environment (e.g. Agile, DevSecOps, Cloud)
• Within the assigned projects, you will ensure business needs are balanced with technology challenges
• Within the assigned projects, you will develop and oversee effective solution architectures from design through to delivery working across multi-disciplined areas and functions
• Degree in Software Engineering, Information Technology or related sciences field (alternatively provable equivalent education and practical experience in this domain)
• You bring at least 2-3 years of hands-on experience in an architecture role (enterprise or domain architecture) and around 5 years in software engineering or information technology
• Deep knowledge of enterprise architecture practices, processes and methodologies and you bring a passion for architecture and software engineering excellence
• Knowledge of Agile, Cloud, DevOps, Open Source and a programming language is of substantial advantage as well as practical experience of driving architecture good practice and encouraging creative or forward-thinking in a traditional and modern IT environment
• Future looking with an understanding of current and future technology trends.
• Architecture related accreditation e.g. TOGAF certification
• Technical Writing – knowledge of UML
• Solution Development – System design and System engineering
• Knowledge and experience of Information security governance and oversight
• Your excellent analytical skills will help you to act as a dedicated problem solver with a positive personality and can-do attitude
• Solid communication skills with very good command of the English language. German is beneficial
• You are an open-minded and empathic teammate with a partnering mindset and an enthusiastic and motivated personality, with demonstrated experience in solving complex challenges
